One is supposed to be a reality show while the other is supposedly a real show. Both air on National Television. Prima facie there is nothing common between them but if you look closely (as I did)... you will realize that not only are they similar but our longer running PARLIAMENT is a bigger and better show than BIGG BOSS!!
BIGG BOSS:
14 members - chosen by the show organizers
PARLIAMENT:
545 members - elected by the public with thumping majorities!!
BIGG BOSS:
84 days of constant scrutiny under surveillance cameras
PARLIAMENT:
Summer, winter, monsoon sessions for five years and over 8 hours of constant coverage by national and international press... I'll leave the calculation to you...
BIGG BOSS:
The ultimate authority is a voice called THE BIGG BOSS who is respected and obeyed under all circumstances...
PARLIAMENT:
Well, there is the Constitution... and what respect and obedience?
BIGG BOSS:
The members live without any communication with the outside world.
PARLIAMENT:

An eviction every week on which the members of the house have no control.
PARLIAMENT:
"Eviction" if you may call it so.. is unfortunately only after the term expires ie after 5 long years... a resignation may also evict the member but it is voluntary and totally under his control!!!
BIGG BOSS:
The members keep their house clean, cook their own meals and do their own chores
PARLIAMENT:
The members never clean the house and even occasionally damage house property
BIGG BOSS:
Public voluntarily votes to save a member from getting out of the house and the vote costs just less than Rs. 10 per message
PARLIAMENT:
Public reluctantly votes to send a member into the house and the vote costs... well... if you count the whole maintenance of the election commission, the deputation of election staff, expenditure towards Electronic Voting Machines, the counting... I leave even this calculation to you...
BIGG BOSS:
Public knows that the drama in the house is always scripted and unreal
PARLIAMENT:
Public can never make out if the drama in the house is real or rehearsed
And most importantly...

The show is meant for entertainment and serves its purpose

It is meant to change our lives for good but....
